How long does a small business website take?
Not long: turnaround is quick once we have your content. You see a live preview from the first week, and each page goes up on it as it is built, so your comments are on the real site. We fix them as they come in. At launch the site moves to your domain and the code is handed over.
What do you need from us?
What you sell, your pictures and your words, even rough ones. We edit your words into the pages, though writing all of it from scratch is outside the price. New photos and video are their own services. We also need access to your domain, which stays in your name.
Who owns the site?
You do. The code, the domain and the hosting account are yours at launch, with no lock-in. If you later hire another developer or run the site yourself, you take the code with you. Every account we set up along the way is in your name too.
What is custom website design?
Custom website design means a site designed and coded for one business from a blank page, with no theme or page builder underneath. The pages follow what that business sells and the questions its customers ask before they buy. Because the code is written for it, the owner can take it to any developer later.
Which firms design websites for small businesses?
Freelancers, agencies and website builders do most of it. A freelancer works alone and an agency brings a team; a builder lets the owner make the site but keeps it on the builder's platform. We are a remote agency that quotes a fixed price in writing and hands over the code at launch.
What does a web designer do?
A web designer decides what a site needs and how it looks. That covers the pages, what goes on each one, and the path a visitor takes to call, book or buy. Some designers hand the design to a developer to build. We do both, so the people who design your pages also build them and fix your comments.
Can I design my own website?
Yes. A website builder lets you make a site yourself, and for a new business with a few pages that can be enough. It gets harder once you need a page for every service, bookings or payments that reach you, and a site that stays fast on a phone. That is the work we take on, and the code stays yours.
How to choose a website designer?
Use sites they built that are live today, on your phone, and check that each loads fast and makes the next step obvious. Then get the price, the timeline and the handover in writing, including who holds the domain. Our quote covers all three within one business day, and our own builds are on the work page.
