Video production questions.

How long does video production take?

Three weeks. The first week settles the brief and the shot list, everything is filmed in one day on site, and the next two weeks are the edit, with one round of your notes before the final cuts. You get the finished cuts at the end of week three.

What do you need from us?

A day on your premises, and anyone who appears on camera, whether that is you, your staff or your customers. Paid actors and voice talent sit outside the price. Tell us where each cut will run, since an ad opens differently from a post, and the shot list is planned around it.

Who owns the footage?

You do. The finished cuts and the raw footage come to you, so you can recut them later or hand them to another editor. There is no license to renew and no fee to use them again, on any platform or site.

How are social media videos created?

They start with a brief and a shot list, then get filmed in short takes framed for a vertical screen. The edit cuts them down so each one makes its point in the first seconds. Ours are all shot in one day and edited into eight to twelve vertical cuts, plus one longer film with captions.

What is a short form video reel?

A reel is a short vertical video for Instagram and Facebook that plays full screen as people scroll. TikTok videos and YouTube Shorts work the same way. Reels usually run under a minute and open with the point, because viewers decide in the first seconds whether to keep watching.

What does a video producer do?

A video producer runs the whole project: the brief, the shot list, the shoot day, the edit and the delivery. On small shoots the producer often directs and films too. Ours is one team that plans, films and edits, so your notes go straight to the person cutting the video.

How long are short form videos?

Most run under a minute. Each platform sets its own maximum and changes it now and then, so we cut to what holds attention in the feed and keep the full story for the longer film. Every shoot gives you both: eight to twelve short vertical cuts and one longer film.

Is videography worth it?

For a business people want to see in action, yes: one shoot day gives you weeks of posts and a film for your site. It pays off when the videos run somewhere, in the feed or in ads, so decide where each cut goes before the shoot.
