What do eBay fees take from each card?

Every card we sell loses a fee before we get paid.

As of September 2026, eBay takes 13.25 percent of a card's total sale, shipping and tax included, plus a per-order fee. On TCGplayer, a marketplace seller at levels 1 to 4 pays a 10.75 percent commission, capped at $75 per product, plus 2.5 percent and 30 cents per order. A store of your own pays the card processor and nothing per sale beyond it.

We rewrite each one-of-a-kind listing for every marketplace.

A single card listed on eBay, TCGplayer and a social shop is three listings to write, price and take down the moment it sells. Miss one, and the same card sells twice. A store of your own gives each item one page, with its photos, grade and condition, and it comes down in one place when it sells.

The buyers we win belong to the marketplace.

A buyer who finds your card on a marketplace gets that marketplace's messages and recommendations, and their next card may come from someone else. Marketplaces also limit how you reach buyers outside their system: eBay charges final value fees when its rules on selling outside eBay are broken. A store of your own keeps the customer list, so you can tell regulars about new arrivals.

The platform sets our shipping and store rules.

Marketplaces decide which shipping options you can use and what counts against your standing. As of September 2026, eBay adds 6 percent to the final value fees of sellers whose performance falls below its standard, and its standard envelope covers only raw cards selling for $20 or less. On your own store, you set the shipping options and the policies.

Card seller fee questions.

What fees does eBay charge for selling cards?

eBay charges a final value fee, 13.25 percent for cards as of September 2026, a per-order fee and, past a free allowance, a listing fee. The per-order fee is 30 cents on orders of $10 or less and 40 cents on larger ones. Under the basic fees, the first 250 listings each month are free, then 35 cents each, and eBay says no separate payment processing fee applies.

What are eBay's 2026 trading card fees?

As of September 2026, the card rate is 13.25 percent of the total sale up to $7,500, and 2.35 percent above it. eBay's own example: a card sold for $9,500 with free shipping, with sales tax bringing the total to $10,070, pays a final value fee of $1,054.55, plus a 35-cent insertion fee once the free listings are used.

What are eBay shipping costs for trading cards?

As of September 2026, eBay's standard envelope for raw cards costs 82 cents for 1 ounce, $1.11 for 2 and $1.40 for 3. It includes tracking, takes up to 24 raw cards, excludes graded cards, and is only for items selling for $20 or less. Graded cards and pricier ones need a regular shipping service, and eBay's percentage also applies to the shipping the buyer pays.

What are TCGplayer Direct fees?

TCGplayer Direct charges a fee per card, set by the card's value, as of September 2026. A card at $2.49 or less pays 50 percent of its value and no other fees. A card above $2.49 pays $1.12 plus the standard fees, which for a Direct seller include an 8.95 percent commission and a 2.5 percent transaction fee.

How much does Etsy take in fees?

As of September 2026, Etsy takes 6.5 percent of each sale, shipping included, plus 3 percent and 25 cents for payment processing. Each listing costs 20 cents and lasts four months or until it sells. Sales that come from Etsy's Offsite Ads carry a 15 percent advertising fee, which Etsy can require once a shop's yearly sales pass a threshold. Payment fees vary by the country of your bank.

How much are eBay transaction fees?

eBay has no separate transaction fee: its final value fee covers payment processing, and a small per-order fee sits on top. The percentage depends on the category: 13.25 for trading cards and 13.6 for most others, as of September 2026, each charged on the total sale including shipping and tax. Refunds and canceled sales may qualify for fee credits.
